Each safari is tailor-made to suit the time of the year, current weather patterns, water levels in the delta and each party’s interests and preferences. We take our safaris into National Parks and Game Reserves as well as community owned wildlife concession areas.
A typical safari is normally a duration of 5 to 10 days.
Our itineraries can be can be shortened, extended or varied as per our clients’ wishes. Ideally, we would like a party of 6 persons but need a minimum of 4 pax. However, special arrangements can be made to accommodate smaller groups on a sliding scale of cost. Conditions may vary and the length of stay in the parks or reserves, often depends on availability of camping sites.
Early reservations are essential.
The very word “safari” conjures up a magical world of travel and means “to journey” in some distant land. The areas in which we operate are probably the last where one can experience a typical old style East African safari. That Out of Africa feeling, will come naturally as you enjoy each safari day with us.
Okavango Voyagers offers the ultimate African Safari Experience in the most famous of Botswana's game reserves and National Parks. Okavango Voyagers runs mobile safaris in Botswana, affording guests the chance to see Africa up close. The safaris are tailored to your requirements and run from 5 to 10 days. Transport is in special game viewing vehicles with a sun canopy. Travel between areas is by road, giving one the sense of being right between the earth and the sky - divided only by the wilderness and all creatures that call it home.
Operating mainly in Northern Botswana, Okavango Voyagers takes guests on mobile safaris to the real bush, staying in comfortable tented camps. We set up the campsite where possible, ahead of your arrival, taking it down again a few days later to move to the next area. Our loyal staff are happy and well trained in their camp duties. Your enthusiasm and enjoyment spurs them on and they welcome you to see all the back of house activities. See how our kitchen turns out your excellent meals on open fires or watch how a freshly baked loaf of bread comes out of a pot of coals.
Your guide will offer unique opportunities for the best photography or adventures on the move, where one is not dictated to by time or set routes. Stalking lions take their time to position and so we too, wait patiently for the hunt to unfold.
What makes Okavango Voyagers different, is getting close to nature in all its splendour yet safe in the knowledge that your guide has the experience to ensure that you enjoy your safari to the fullest. Watching elephants, buffalo or lechwe crossing the flood plains and wetlands, seeing a lion or a cheetah kill, or encountering a zebra migration, we drive on to explore the Khwai Community area, Moremi Reserve, Savuti, Deception Valley and other wildlife paradises. All of these areas will give you memories that will last a lifetime. Tracking lions, spying on a leopard and drinking sundowners under a rising moon, listening to the sounds of an African night - these are some of the safari experiences you can enjoy.
Okavango Voyagers offers a range of safaris and will tailor a safari to your own personal wishes. If you so wish to concentrate on birds, insects, photography or even trees and plants, we will ensure that you get the most out of your safari.
